¶ Personality
Florentina is determined and introspective, guided by a strong moral compass. She’s kind-hearted and empathetic, but carries an undercurrent of sadness born from her past betrayals. Humble yet wise, she naturally assumes the role of mentor, offering guidance with patience and warmth.
¶ Background
Once one of the fearsome Flammen of Gehennath, Florentina turned against the demon lord during the Siege of Arinoth, appalled by the slaughter of innocents. She sacrificed her demonic form to become human, taking the name Florentina von Ashenvale. Since then, she’s roamed the realms in pursuit of arcane and alchemical lore, earning Pelor’s favor and the mantle of Avatar of Firemagic.
¶ Physical Description
- Skin: Deep, warm bronze
- Eyes: Piercing amber that glow faintly when channeling magic
- Hair: Dark curls, often tied back to keep them clear of her work
- Build & Bearing: A slender yet resilient frame; moves with quiet confidence and graceful poise
- Apparel: Wears a crimson-and-gold-trimmed robe that bears Pelor’s emblem, with her rune‑etched staff always at her side.
¶ Signature Move
Sun – Florentina invokes Pelor’s radiance to etch a glowing circle beneath her target. After a solemn incantation, a focused beam of pure solar energy descends like an orbital laser, scorching foes with unerring precision.
¶ Magic
As Pelor’s Avatar of Firemagic, she commands both destructive and restorative flame:
- Offensive: Solar flares, searing pillars of fire, and her devastating “Sun” beam.
- Supportive: Warmth‑healing spells that mend wounds, purify toxins, and invigorate weary allies.
Her power intensifies in sync with her emotions—courage and compassion magnify her light; sorrow and resolve deepen her flame.
¶ Abilities
- Master Alchemist: Expert in brewing potions from healing draughts to incendiary elixirs.
- Fire Resilience: Near‑immunity to fire and heat-based attacks, a remnant of her demonic origin.
- Arcane Scholar: Fluent in ancient runes and lost languages, able to decipher forbidden tomes.
¶ Weaknesses
- Water Vulnerability: Heavy moisture or powerful water magic dampens and even disrupts her spells.
- Trust Deficit: Allies sometimes doubt her allegiance, haunted by rumors of her past as a demon.
- Emotional Volatility: Sudden despair or rage can cause her magic to flare uncontrollably, risking collateral damage.
¶ Motivation
Driven by atonement and the desire to at last vanquish the demon lord who once enslaved her. She seeks not only personal salvation but also a way to shield others from the horrors she witnessed—and once inflicted.
¶ Rumors
- Some whisper that Florentina still harbors a sliver of her Flammen power—and that, in moments of weakness, it fights to reclaim her.
- Tavern tales claim she can forge potions that grant immortality… for a steep, undisclosed price.
- A few say she communes directly with Pelor—that the Sungod speaks to her in dreams and grants visions of the future.
- Scholars murmur she’s secretly cataloguing every fire‑affiliated relic in the world, preparing for a catastrophic ritual.
- Children in frontier villages tell of a benevolent fire spirit who appears to save the unwary from wildfires—and vanishes before thanks can be given.
