Morak/Moraqu is a healing herb that grows in the moors. It can capture the blood of any creature, absorb it into its own cycle, and once it has collected enough of this blood, mixed with the spirit of the herbs, it can manifest into a necromant. A few herbs combined can do this, a single herb would not be enough. The necromant's appearance is similar to that of a ghost, wrapped in tattered cloth, with no visible face. The colour varies from necromant to necromant, but is usually greenish grey. Underneath the cloth, the necromant has built a skeleton covered in a thin layer of skin which, when shed, produces the seeds of the herbs from which it was made. They usually disappear whenever they like, depending on whether there is a predator in sight. If a necromant feels threatened, their disappearance becomes more random to the naked eye - this behaviour is how they calculate their next move. Morak - Necromants aren't usually a threat, but if you attempt to enter their habitat, their spells will kill you faster than you think. Necromants keep a distance between themselves, their habitat and their herbs - they are normally harmless.
Morak is a sought-after herb for its healing properties alone. It is similar to the yarrow herb that grows in meadows. However, its properties are much stronger than those of the yarrow. When harvested, Morak is a useful tool for stopping bleeding wounds. The enzymes released give the blood a healing effect. A molecular bond is formed on the surface of the wound. Blood no longer comes out because a thin skin has formed. Another fact: the use of Morak doesn't require any kind of magic, it can be used by anyone.
However, if you associate Morak with magic, boiling it into a potion, pulverising it, making it into paint - these tinctures and powders can be used to resurrect a necromancer. You just have to be able to control that necromancer, to make it obedient, and the best way to do that is to give it a swamp to plant Morak in.
How did Morak come about?
Morak was once a mage who focused on the creatures of the forest, the forest itself, and its fauna and botany. Morak was known as the protector of the forest, which is why his violent death put a spell on the herb Morak. How did Morak come about?
