Wenzel Grienfield is an experienced professional day laborer who travels from village to village completing wildely different tasks like helping on construction sides to assisting in loading the carrages of merchants. He specializes in farming, from tending animals to harvesting plants, there isn't much on farms in Tundra that Wenzel Grienfield doesn't know about. He never stays very long in one place almost living a nomadic live. He never really knows where he is going or where he is currently, for he doesn't bother to learn such things as political systems, boarders, religions, gods, history or the names of villages and cities, nor does he care. He always remembers the name of his friends and acquaintances, even though he might have misheard them. In his free time, he most often can be found drunk or smoking his pipe in a local tavern of his joice, having a good time with the other workers.
In reality though, Wenzel is more than he seems to be. This is because of his two big secrets: First, his mother is an elf, which makes him half the most hunted race on the whole continent. He hides this fact with his white star and moon patterned bandana, which covers his pointy ears.
His second secret is that at the age of 38, he was once approached in the corner of an empty tavern by a mysterious female figure clad in shadows. Due to his drunken state, he didn't realize that time had stopped and offered the stranger one of his yet not touched pints. She didn't say anything and didn't take up the offer and seated herself oposit of him. A deafening voice began to speak in his ask proposing a deal for the drunken farmer. If he would collect the souls of the dead and guide them to her into the afterlife, he would receive a weekly reward of his joice. The power to do so would also be provided to him. In Response, Wenzel , always knowledgable of the workrights of tundra, wrote a makeshift contract on a napkin, settling the deal to at least ten souls per week of any kind against 20 gold. The figure agreed, and left. Wenzel then realised that he has just met death herself, but still continued to get wasted. Now forward, he collected the souls of the dying and took up small inofficial hunting tasks, meeting Lady Death each week to turn in his harvest.
Wenzel is a very calm and friendly individual. Even in the face of powerful demons and world-ending calamities, he isn't shaken much, as he sees it as a normal day in the live of a guy working for death herself. In his eyes, he as an half-elf is a very exotic creatures, so where's really the dirfference between him and a member of the flames of gehenath, for example.
Due to his constant use of drugs he is a very confused man, allways misunderstanding things and comeing to outlandish conclusions that he believes with all his hard. He is truely the most dangerous when he thought long and hard about a topic, because only he in his drug clouded mental haze truely understands what he thought up and believes it with all his heart and will follow his truths to the bitter end.
At 27 years old, Wenzel was onze recruitet by a changeling send by the demon lord of Agriculture Beelzebub to battle the food shortage in the souths caused by an incredible drought that affected most of the demon kingdom but a few places. These unaffected areas couldn't produce enough food though to supply most of the kingdom. For this reason Beelzebub made a plan. He wanted to kidnap farmers from Tundra and use them to establish new farms at unconventional places, one of them being the abyss gate.
Wenzel offered his services to the changeling and was one of the few Farmers that took up the job out of his own free will. Thus, he was teleported to the Abyss Gate, where he and other farmers first worked in slave like conditions, growing weed and taking care of animals with almost no breaks and no pay. Wenzel combated these harsh conditions succesfully through organizing all farmers there into a workers association. He convinced the demons that well treated workers would be more productive, especially because growing plants and keeping lifestock is very hard near the abyss gate, as they had to protect themselves from demonic monsters and had to be very vigilant for the crops, less they would wither and die. The workers were given days off, fixed working hours, paid leave and sufficent pay at 15 gold per week. Wenzels predictions were true and the farm at the abyss gate prospered and became significant in fighting the food shortage after a few months. After one year, Wenzel left his job and was teleported back to the north, not aware that he even left it.
Wenzel left his life as a Farmer only through pure coincidence. While staying in a seaside town, he met the great Evil posing as a loser pirate callesd Anghor. Due to the Mischiefs of the great Evil he landed in jail where he escaped with a ragdag of inmates, one of them an old friend of Wenzel, Bobi and the seemingly agnostic paladin Descara. Unknown of the great Evils true nature, the all formed the group called "Die Überlebenden" after surviving an encounter with Revolver in an criminal underground. They then happened to get teleported to another continent after fighting the remnants of a cultist group from that underground.
After the teleportation, they survived in the dessert for some time, until they reached the secretly desolated village "Silberbach" where they captured the Avatar of Fire Ifrit (See "The Silberbach Conspiracy). Afterwards, they fought a battle alongside Beehemoth, Ifrit and other adventurers against the King of Demons, the ancient Dragon Malnar. Malnar one the battle due to the interference of the great Evil Anghor. Now, their mission is to banish Anghor from all of reality and bring fated death to Malnar
